Lying in the dark,
a tear escapes down her cheek,
but she flicked it away.

She was happy, wasn't she?

No one could know
about...
her secret ~pain~
"Just leave me alone" her mind screamed
"Please." She begged, as another tear slid away.

She felt stuck in reverse
lost in words

Why couldn't she be...normal?

"I am happy!" she pleaded
she would never tell anyone
she would fix herself.
It was a new year.
a new life.
A new her.
